I went to a few server rooms in the last few day because end users lost connection to the network. Cisco Catalyst 2960, 4506-E, 4507R+E, the port light were green but flickering. The status light on the sup card was red on the 4507R+E. Could that mean there is a fault with one of the ports or it is just the light bulb that has a problem. Is there a way to troubleshoot such issue.

Green light is normal, when the traffic going in and out of the port you see this.
you can also see any errors on the port :
show interface gig x/x
show logging show you any issue on the switch.
show module show you any issue with module and what module have good.
is thus a dual supervisor... ?

Can you post the output of "sh module" from the 4507?
