Port status ...

Hello,

Scenario:

I have C2960X- 48 gigabit Ethernet ports.

At the other end are computers.

Problem - Question:

The computer is turned off (not on standby),

But status of port is up ...

GigabitEthernet1/0/10 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

 Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
  Keepalive set (10 sec)
  Full-duplex, 10Mb/s, media type is 10/100/1000BaseTX
input flow-control is off, output flow-control is unsupported

Here is show run:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/10
 description Gi1/0/10 Port - 10
 switchport access vlan 350
 switchport mode access
 switchport voice vlan 290
storm-control broadcast level pps 50
 storm-control action shutdown
 spanning-tree portfast

end

There is only one PC connected, and PC is off.

Why I have port up and Full-fuplex, 10Mb/s?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

this issue should be given to the manufacturer network card

This behaviour is normal if your PC is TURNED OFF and not POWERED OFF.

When you turn off the PC, the power is still enabled.  This NIC card is active due to Wake-on-LAN.  So the NIC listens out for the "magic packet".
