Folks,

         I have these commands defined in the global config mode. But I do not see these commands show up underneath an access port interface. I am running a 9300.

spanning-tree portfast default
spanning-tree portfast bpduguard default

Hi,

Can you try :-

show spanning-tree interface gigx/x/x

Hopefully you will see an output something like this

Port 3 (GigabitEthernetx/x/x) of VLAN0101 is designated forwarding
 <SNIP>
   The port is in the portfast mode
   Link type is point-to-point by default
   Bpdu guard is enabled by default
   BPDU: sent 6575235, received 0

 Port 3 (GigabitEthernetx/x/x) of VLAN801 is designated forwarding
 <SNIP>
   Number of transitions to forwarding state: 1
   The port is in the portfast mode
   Link type is point-to-point by default
   Bpdu guard is enabled by default
   BPDU: sent 6575160, received 0

On some older switch platforms, I recall (?) seeing these global commands insert those commands on interfaces, which I considered a cosmetic bug. (I also recall, on such platforms, I found you could remove the interface commands but the global commands were still operative.)

I further recall (?) later platforms didn't have this behavior.

I suspect your 9300 is fine. If you do what Alex suggests, or perhaps show interface, you might find access interfaces "inherit" those global commands correctly even if they don't show those commands, per interface, in the config.
