Power Supply Modules, regular versus platinum certified version.

Can someone explain the difference between the 'regular' versus the platinum certified versions. (Technically, but also when to use (order) which version to a certain switch. Basically the pro's and cons, perhaps even the limitations).

I have the same question, would like to know the advantages of Platinum so to justify the additional cost.

 - It relates to efficiency when converting AC to DC (efficiency rate) and or reducing power consumption as far as possible, I don't think you have an option to choose on most of the switches being sold (you have to take the power supplies 'as is').
