I have read so much stuff in recent days about the priority queue trying to understand something simple, but I just can't find the answer... Either I can't find it, I didn't see it, or I don't understand it. I figured some expert here can just answer it once and for all. How is the priority queue serviced on a 2960-X? I understand, as long as there are packets in the priority queue, the switch services that queue before every other queue... but what happens, in times of congestion, if the priority queue is empty, the switch is servicing queue 2, and some frames come into the priority queue? Is this strict priority queueing where the switch will move back to the priority queue and empty those frames, and go back to queue 2... Or will the switch finish queue 2, then move on to 3, then 4, then come full circle back to the the priority queue? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!
