Hi there.

I have a Switch model WS-C3560X-24P with SW Version 12.2. (55) SE5 and SW Image C3560E-UNIVERSALK9-M.

Now I get messages from 3 ports that:% ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed.

The strange thing is that there is nothing connected to these ports and they are like "notconnect»

An excerpt of the log looks like this:

1469058: Feb 18 09:08:33.945 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed
1469060: Feb 18 09:08:49.279 CET: %ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Gi0/12: Power granted
1469061: Feb 18 09:08:50.310 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed
1469063: Feb 18 09:09:02.280 CET: %ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Gi0/12: Power granted
1469064: Feb 18 09:09:03.413 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed

1469071: Feb 18 09:09:44.766 CET: %ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Gi0/12: Power granted
1469072: Feb 18 09:09:45.773 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed
1469074: Feb 18 09:09:57.843 CET: %ILPOWER-5-POWER_GRANTED: Interface Gi0/12: Power granted
1469075: Feb 18 09:09:58.850 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed
1469077: Feb 18 09:10:11.961 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed
1469079: Feb 18 09:10:25.063 CET: %ILPOWER-5-IEEE_DISCONNECT: Interface Gi0/12: PD removed

Do I have a problem with the hardware? Or what could this be due to?

Regards Jens

The message itself means that a powered device is no longer connected to the switch or that the connected powered device is being powered by an external AC power source. No power is on the switch PoE port.

Looks like a cable issue.

Can you please run the following commands:

1.  Command:  test cable tdr interface Gi0/12;

2.  Wait for approximately 61 seconds;

3.  Command:  sh cable tdr interface Gi 0/12; and

4.  Post the output to #3.

Hello again and thank you for your reply and help.

The problem is that the local technicians reporting that there is nothing connected to this port. The same applies to Port # 8 and 16 on the same switch. But I've done the test on port 12 and the response from Switch was:

Interface Speed Local pair Pair length        Remote pair Pair status

--------- ----- ---------- ------------------ ----------- --------------------

Gi0/12    auto

               Pair A     2    +/- 10 meters N/A         Short/Crosstalk

                Pair B     0    +/- 10 meters N/A         Open

                Pair C     0    +/- 10 meters N/A         Open

                Pair D     1    +/- 10 meters N/A         Open

Check the cable directly connected to port 12 of the switch and get it replaced.  It's faulty.

Hi,

As suggested by Leloo we see this issue when the cable or the NIC card is faulty.

But you say that there is nothing connected to it.

==> "show power inline"

==> "show version"

Please use the command in the interface configuration mode :

-power inline never

  power inline auto

For more information please refer to the following link:

If still this doesnt help then your ports on the switch have gone faulty you need to RMA the device.
