Problem with Etherchannel cross-stack

Hi there,

I am having problems with and etherchannel between 2 stacks of Catalyst 3750X. It was working for several weeks but now, one interface is down.

I have 2 3750X in stack at site A, and 2 3750X in stack at site B. They are connected through fiber in cross-stack way. This is:

1/1/4 ---> 2/1/4

2/1/4 ---> 1/1/4

We are using 100FX SFPs because of distance between Site A and Site B (more than 550m).

Some weeks ago, we configured the etherchannel and everything was working perfectly.

The configuration is:

SITE A

interface GigabitEthernet1/1/4

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

channel-group 1 mode active

end

interface GigabitEthernet2/1/4

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

channel-group 1 mode active

end

interface Port-channel1

description AGREGACION->SWIPOCCIS01

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

end

Group  Port-channel  Protocol    Ports

------+-------------+-----------+-----------------------------------------------

1      Po1(SU)         LACP      Gi1/1/4(I)  Gi2/1/4(P)

SITE B

interface GigabitEthernet1/1/4

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

channel-group 1 mode active

end

interface GigabitEthernet2/1/4

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

channel-group 1 mode active

end

interface Port-channel1

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

switchport mode trunk

duplex full

end

Group  Port-channel  Protocol    Ports

------+-------------+-----------+-----------------------------------------------

1      Po1(SU)         LACP      Gi1/1/4(P)  Gi2/1/4(D)

As you can see, at site A the interface 1/1/4 is marked as "I", and at site B the interface 2/1/4 is marked as "D".

The weird thing here is that at site A the LED of 1/1/4 is GREEN, and the LED for 2/1/4 at site B is OFF. Very weird thing ...

Any ideas?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

couple of things you can try

do a sh and no sh under interface 2/1/4

if this does not help, unplugs 2/1/4 physically and than plug it back in.

If not you may have a bad SFP.

Also, is there way for you to test the fiber?  You may have a bad patch.
