Hello,
I have a problem with the replacement of a switching module 4148 towards a switching module 4248-RJ45V… Once the replacement carried out, the configuration of the module is erased… If I replace a module of the same type (for example two 4248), there is no problem…
The switch is a 4506-E with a Supervisor IV.
IOS : cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG.bin
Anybody has already seen this ?

Hi AB,
This is expected behavior. Cisco modular switches erase the configuration when a different module is inserted than the previously installed module and keep the configuration if its the same type of module or no new module is inserted.
You can use the "module clear-config" command to remove the configuration if a module is removed.

The "module clear-config" is only available in 6500, not on 4500 as far as I know:
