The config on both 3012 and 3560 should be trunk, so you can carry all the vlans connected to the IBM chassis.

Can you post the non working config from both 3012 and the 3560?

HTH

Switch 3560

switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

Swittch 3012

switchport mode trunk

The trunk comes up but i have a machine connected in the vlan 40 actually the port in 3560 is configured like mode access in this vlan and the port of the server in the 3012 is access vlan 1, i have changed this port access to vlan 40 but the server lose conectivity.

Hi Luis,

Is this IBM switch a BNT switch?

I dont know what BNT means, but the IBM switch is a Cisco 3012

hi Luis,

IBM has a switch called BNT http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247960.html?Open so I was not sure if that is your case or not.

Thanks,

Juan
