My switch is WS -C2960-24TC-L and we are installing a Profinet Controller and some reason the Controller and the Slave device is not seeing each other. From the cotractor that is installing the equipment states that the firmware need an upgrade to perfom for Profinet EtherType 0x8892 Profinet Protocol for the equipment. My question is is this a requirement for this type of switch to upgrade firmware t allow traffic for this device and we rely on other more important equipment on the network to function and not be afftected by this device.
