prompted with SSO password and denied login on switch

Hi,

 

I have recently build and sent a cisco catalyst C9200L-24T-4X to a customer site. I have noticed that when I remote into the switch i am being prompted with a username as normal, but when I put the local username in, i am then prompted with an SSO password. when typing the local password, i am then denied access:

 

Enter SSO Password :
End of keyboard-interactive prompts from server
Access denied

 

This is the first I have seen this issue, so just wondering if anybody else has seen this and managed to resolve it ?

 

The software running on the switch is:

 

Cisco IOS Software [Amsterdam], Catalyst L3 Switch Software (CAT9K_LITE_IOSXE), Version 17.3.3

 - It seems a 'normal' authenticating issue , are you sure the involved credentials were not changed at  the remote customer  site ?
