PTPv1 support on Cisco Nexus 9k

We have a Cisco Nexus 9k device with license 9.3(8) which is greater than mentioned supporting license 9.3(6).

Though, PTPv1 command(“ptp forward-version1”)  is not supported in our device. So how do we get this command in our switch?

And also when ptp is not enabled, will PTPv1 packets be dropped or passed else how it will behave in Nexus 9k switch?

Hello @rubini,

If the [ptp forward-version1] command is not supported in your Cisco Nexus 9k device running software version 9.3(8), then it isn't possible to enable PTPv1 on that device.

When PTP is not enabled on the switch, any PTPv1 packets received by the switch will be dropped by default. This is because PTP is a precision time synchronization protocol that relies on accurate timekeeping, and enabling PTPv1 in a network that is primarily using PTPv2 can cause timing issues.

Best regards

Hi,

As per guide, it is supported from release 9.3(6). So, can you help me about in which version Cisco Nexus-9k switch will support PTPv1?
