Hi, we've been mounting some IE1000 and IE2000 with this power supply (PWR-IE65W-PC-AC ) in some industrial cabinets, but we ran into a problem. They are switching off automatically, but they are not breacking down or melting any fuse. Just reseting the AC power connection, they come to live again.
Luckily, we have not moved yet the connections from old switches to this new ones because we would be running into a bigger problem.
The switch consumption is the lowest possible because there is no connection (nor POE neither NO POE).
Thanks

check console output or syslog messages are sent before switching off
if no messages, then there may be a fault in the power supply or the wiring
the switch has a dual power connector, what happens if you connect dual power ? (to a second PSU)

It seems to be the power supply because output led is off. But we're trying to figure out what is happening in the power supply or in the AC electrical supply that makes it go off, but without breaking it down. What kind of internal error in the power supply can switch off the 54Vdc output?

really analyzing that would need diving deep in switching voltage regulator circuits
and you need the actual circuit diagram to be sure
most power supplies have some electronic "fuse" and other safety mechanism to react on problems with power-in and/or power out. as they are electronic safeties, this will reset by disconnecting AC cable
there may also be a thermal safety, this will need some time to cool off
1) first check mains wiring (Live, Neutral, Ground) is correct
2) if you use dual power supply it may be the IE2000 "leaks" from one power input 1 to power input 2 (or visa versa)
=> check by using only a single power input, or using another IE2000
3) did you check with another power supply ? (could even be non-Cisco)
you may be able to have the PSU replaced under warranty

Did you ever have this issue resolved? We have quite a few of them failing for no apparent reasons, they require an AC power toggle to work again

we also have same issue in some places.
