Hi,
we have a stack of 3 x C2960. All 3 devices are using one normal power supply. For a second power connection
a RPS 2300 is used.
Looking at the status we see the following situation:
SW PID Serial# Status Sys Pwr PoE Pwr Watts --- ------------------ ---------- --------------- ------- ------- ----- 1 Built-in Unavail 2 Built-in Good 3 Built-in Unavail SW Status RPS Name RPS Serial# RPS Port# -- ------------- ---------------- ----------- --------- 1 Active CiscoRPS FDO1614XXXX 1 2 Active CiscoRPS FDO1614XXXX 2 3 Active CiscoRPS FDO1614XXXX 3 RPS Name: CiscoRPS State: Active PID: PWR-RPS2300 Serial#: FDO161XXXXX Fan: Good Temperature: Green RPS Power Supply A: Present PID : C3K-PWR-750WAC Serial# : AZS154XXXXX System Power : Good PoE Power : Good Watts : 300/420 (System/PoE) RPS Power Supply B: Present PID : C3K-PWR-750WAC Serial# : AZS154XXXXX System Power : Good PoE Power : Good Watts : 300/420 (System/PoE) DCOut State Connected Priority BackingUp WillBackup Portname SW# ----- ------- --------- -------- --------- ---------- --------------- --- 1 Active Yes 6 Yes Yes XXXXX 1 2 Active Yes 6 No No XXXXX 2 3 Active Yes 6 Yes Yes XXXXX 3 4 Active No 6 No No <> - 5 Active No 6 No No <> - 6 Active No 6 No No <> -
What does it mean ?
Are 2 switches using the RPS as main power device, and one switch the internal power supply ?
Or is something defect ?
I'm new and just started to configure the monitoring (using icinga2) and saw an error message.
Any help is welcome!
Bye, Peer

Hi,
Are 2 switches using the RPS as main power device, and one switch the internal power supply ?
It seems that way. In order to test it, you would have to disconnect the RPS from one of the switches (1 or 3) (in a maintenance window) and see if the built-in power supply work.
