Q-in-Q - same switch as PE and Edge, is it possible ?

Hi to all, a customer asked me a very strange config.

Due to constraint of the Provider, the same switch should act both as PE switch and Edge switch.

I try to make an example.

In a fabulous world we have the customer switch with a port configured as :

interface GigabitEthernet2/x/xx
 description TRUNK to sw
 switchport
 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
 switchport trunk allowed vlan 3,5,15,41-45,143,145,147-151,155-159,163,165,167
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 175,197-199,201
 switchport mode trunk
 udld port
 channel-group 99 mode desirable

and the provider switch configured as :

interface GigabitEthernetx/0/x
 description To s
 switchport access vlan 794
 switchport mode dot1q-tunnel
 l2protocol-tunnel cdp
 l2protocol-tunnel stp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point pagp
 l2protocol-tunnel point-to-point udld
 no cdp enable
 spanning-tree bpdufilter enable

but int this real world, customer asked us to collapse the 2 switches in one switch (that is a cat 6509 with sup 3c in vss mode with 6748-ge-tx card).

Is it possible have the edge config in one port and the tunnel config in another port (may be also in another line card) and connect the 2 ports with a crossover cable ? In your opinion can this config be able to work ?

Many thanks for your help

Wouldn't a simple patch lead accomplish the same thing?  AKA, don't use the switch at all, just patch the customers connection directly to the other port in the patch panel?

not possible, cause we need to forward encapsulated vlan over 3 Gig link from 2 different ISP to connect 2 DC...
