Hi,
My Customer uses Cat6509-E with WS-X6724-SFP.
This interface sometimes increases "ifOutDiscards" and "qos0Outlost" .
Please look at attachments.
# This Log is "show interfaces counters int gig x/x"
# Count of "ifOutDiscards" and "qos0Outlost" is equal.
1.Is this oversubscription???
2.I want to know what one "qos0Outlost" is.

Hi,
I am seeing the same behaviour at a customer site at the moment, its a 6500 with a WS-X6748-GE-TX card.
At the moment, I am putting it down to some sort of oversubscription?
I don't know for sure, but I am guessing the the qos0OutLost counter is being incremented each time a packet is being discarded that has a QoS (COS/DSCP) marking of zero? Or that as QoS is not enabled on the switch, all output drops are attributed to this counter?
In my case, there is no QoS configured on the switch. If you look at the "shopw queueing int x/x" command it shows that all of the packets being discarded are being dropped from Q1, which is the only egress Q assigned to the interface.
I will keep digging and update if I find anymore information...
Cheers
Jonathan
