Question about module compatibility

Is the WS-X6548-GE-TX module compatible with a Supervisor2 engine with a Switch Fabric Module installed? Should I be able to hot swap the new module in? What does "Fabric enabled" mean int he product literature? Are there extra connections/cables involved or just slide it on in?

Hi,

Yes it is, the "Fabric enabled" means that it can utilize the Switch Fabric Module installed, and yes it supports OIR (hot swap).

Thanks for replying! Do I need to do anything special with the SFM, because when I try to insert the new WS-X6548-GE-TX module, a bunch of alarms go off on the front panel interface of the SFM as well as log messages that say switch module timed out.
