question about VTP pruning in vtp transparent mode

In configuration guide, it said,

VTP pruning is not designed to function in VTP transparent mode. If one or more switches in the

network are in VTP transparent mode, you should do one of these:

• Turn off VTP pruning in the entire network.

• Turn off VTP pruning by making all VLANs on the trunk of the switch upstream to the VTP

transparent switch pruning ineligible.

Q1, what's the reason to turn off VTP pruning when one or more switches are in VTP transparent mode?

Q2, actually, after set the mode from server of client to transparent mode when pruning was enabled, pruning is still showed as enabled. Does that mean pruning is working in transparent mode?

The switch does not send VTP updates and does not act on VTP updates received from other switches. However, a VTP transparent switch running VTP version 2 does forward received VTP advertisements on all of its trunk links.

Since VTP transparent mode wil not any updates, then no use of enabling VTP pruning.

Pruning will work only VTP(version 2) transparent mode.VTP version 1 transparent mode will not send any vtp info to other switches.ie)the same functionality of VTP pruning
