Hi,

Currently our company has 65k switch where qos is enabled. it has the following configurations for video traffic and network protocols traffic with the following threshold values

wrr-queue cos-map 2 2 4

wrr-queue cos-map 3 2 3

wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 6 7

wrr-queue queue-limit 40 30 15

wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 1 40 60 80 80 80 80 80 80

wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 1 70 80 100 100 100 100 100 100

no wrr-queue random-detect 2

no wrr-queue random-detect 3

wrr-queue threshold 2 60 80 100 100 100 100 100 100

wrr-queue threshold 3 60 80 100 100 100 100 100 100

what is the advantage of changin that to different queue/threshold

wrr-queue cos-map 3 5 4

wrr-queue cos-map 3 2 3

wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 6

wrr-queue cos-map 3 4 7

wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 2 80 80 100 100 100 100 100 100

wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100

wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 3 80 70 80 90 100 100 100 100

wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 3 100 80 90 100 100 100 100 100

naveen a 6500 can have qos based on the module. so modules have priority q + normal transmit.

some have only normal queues without any priority.

I can see that the cos map being changed from using queue2 and 3 to just queue 3. so any  frames with cos 3 4 6 7 will be serviced in queue 3 with various thresholds. threshold indicated in random detect have two values

minimum threshold define at what % of the queue limit should wred kick in to start weighted random discarding packets beyond this % threshold limit

max is the maximum threshold in % of queue capacity that will start the all packet discard beyond this point scenario.
