Question regarding WS-X6748-GE-TX with CFC

Does anyone know if one can mix-n-match a WS-X6748-GE-TX/ CFC with a

WS-X6748-GE-TX/ DFC4 in a 6509-E chassis running a SUP 2-T?

I know the WS-X6748-GE-TX/ CFC will work by itself and the

WS-X6748-GE-TX/ DFC4 will work by itself, but will they work together in the same chassis?

  Yes you can use both.  The traffic from the CFC will get sent to the supervisor for switching versus being switched on the card itself with the dfc card.

I agree with Glen.

WS-X6748-GE-TX is compatible with SUP2T either with CFC or DFC 4X daughter card. With that said any existing WS-X67xx Line cards can be upgraded by removing their existing CFC or DFC3x and replacing it with a new DFC4 or

DFC4XL. They will then be operationally equivalent to the WS-X68xx linecards.

Note: With DFC4X Daughter card on each line card adds an additional 60Mpps of Forwarding performance.
