In my organization now bring some cisco 2960 switch.Already use HP procurve switch like 1700,1800,2500 series.Now some problem is raised in this network after put some cisco switches.Suddenly some cisco switch port is reflect error port disable.Not every day and not every cisco switch.Now some cisco switches are connected with HP procurve switch or some cisco connected with cisco switch.I have seen error port disable happen where HP switch is terminated and also where cisco switch terminated in another cisco switch.There have use only default VLAN1. No other vlan or no trunk are used.
In HP procurve switch have enable STP but mode is not same in all HP switches.Some switches have STP, MSTP ,Some have mstp,rpvst,some have 802.1d/STP or 802.1w/RSTP.But in cisco is use PVST mode.Now its difficult to troubleshoot every time when error port disable happened.So can somebody help me for this troubleshoot.What i have configure in cisco end? Before cisco means when all are HP switch then network have no issue.But after put some cisco it hectic for us to this HP & CISCO mixing scenario.
