Radius Duplicate request problem

Hello Guys,

Actually, I got success with my previous problem configuring Radius server for AAA and it is working. My problem is I had configured it in a test server and now as it is working in my test server, I wanted to shift it to one of the production server which has radius working on it.

But strange thing is when I setup the configuration in my cisco switch to talk to the prod server and the prod server is configured the same way as was in test server, AAA does not work. I keep on getting duplicate request traffic in Wireshark. I can't figure out what is the problem.

There are some other policies running the prod server. So, just to make sure that is not the problem, I disable all other policies, but the problem is the same.

Can anyone help me with this?

Hello,

which devices are we talking about, IOS devices (a router) ?

My Network Policy Server (NPS)........... My switches are fine. It is just that my radius authentication does not work in my production NPS server, but it works fine in my test NPS server.

I think  I found the reason for my problem in radius authentication. Actually, I was not aware of it as well. The authentication in the radius server was managed by MFA. I came to know about it after reaching out to the contractor who has setup the authentication server earlier.

Now, my radius AAA authentication is working fine.

HI how did you fix this i have the same issue

As i have mentioned in my earlier reply, my production radius server had a MFA server as well which i was not aware of. So, technically there were 2 radius servers authenticating my network traffic. That's why i was getting duplicate request.

Now, i have shifted my test server to production and everything is Ok.
