Hi all,
During my search on internet, i wasnt able to find any formula that can help me measure range ( in m or km) of a particular antenna given its transmit power, dbi etc. Every where i found that its best to test in real world. But lets say we are talking about open air, i am sure that there must be some range of antenna that could be calculated. What is the formula of it ?

There is no range direcly related to the antenne gain and transmitted power
You also need to take into account the receiving antenna gain, recieved noise and reciever sensitivity.
Antennes can be perfectly aligned, but when the wind shakes the antennas, signal quality is degraded and less distance can be traversed.
So mounting also plays an important part.
