To be honest 802.1w is pretty stable, and in a switch network with that many vlans and switches, then 802.1w is they way forward.
The only recommendation I would make would be to plan witch switches you want to be the root switch and backup root switch, this will cut down any troubleshooting issues you have later on if you encounter any problems.
