relation between amount of data and link's bandwidth.

Hi everybody

Let say we have two hosts.h1 and h2.  Both are at same distance.

h1-----10Mbs link------h2

h1------100Mbs link---h2

Let say h1 has one packet destined for h2.  Will it not take same time for the packet to reach at h2 in both above cases?  The link's bandwidth determines the amount of data not how fast it can travel from one point to another point. Is this correct?

No, it's not correct.  Everything else being equal, the beginning of each packet will arrive at the same time, but on the 100 Mbps link vs. the 10 Mbps link, the packet's contents takes 1/10 as long to transmit.  So the whole packet will arrive sooner.
