remove native VLAN(VLAN1) from trunk port

Hi Guys,

As per subject above, all switch is using VLAN1 as management with few other multiple VLAN.

If we remove the VLAN1, Does other multiple VLAN is still working?, the reason is we suspect traffic flooding on VLAN1 and couldn't locate the source.

Alternatively we would like to remove the VLAN1 and monitor the traffic if still encounter intermittent issue. Thanks

Hi

you can shut down vlan 1 and not allow it accross the trunk but you cant actually remove it , it will always be there and used internally by the device to move traffic such as cdp and stp even when its disabled at user level and not seen on the trunk , other vlans will still work when its disabled
