Replacement of failed Supervisor 2T

We have a Catalyst 6513-E with 2 supervisor 2T modules in it, and it is set up for redundancy

the primary supervisor failed and brought down the whole switching system (not sure why a graceful failover didn't happen)

When I get the replacement for the primary, what will happen when I insert the new blade? Will it sync the configurations and go back to the way it was?

Make sure the IOS is the same as the existing Sup2T and the replacement supervisor card should be able to synchronize with the existing Sup2T.

Or is there no need to do that?

That action is unnecessary.

since it was the primary, should I take the secondary (which is now active) out of slot 8 and put it into slot 7 first? Or is there no need to do that?
