Hello,

I remember that breaking passwords on Cisco router is by changing config reg in Rommon mode - Is this the same process for Cisco switches? Can someone please help

Also, when doing password recovery on switch, can you keep the exiting configuration?

Switching

Help will be great.

Depends on the model, what access level you have to reset, if you lost all, then reset will erase all the information to factory default.

here is the reset to factory :

That depends if "no service password-recovery" is in the config or not.  If this command is in the startup-config then when doing the password-recovery procedure the configuration is erased.
