would i able to restore the running configuration which is copied in a text file using TFTP server?

Hi,
Yes it's possible.
Copy you txt file to startup-config using tftp server.
copy tftp startup-config
afer them the router/switch will ask you for the ip address of the tftp server and after them for the file name.
Check that the file don't have extrange caracters of space and so on.

Its the usual procedure for any file from TFTP server,right? Normally file format that we will get from TFTP server is .dat format. Does the same work with .txt as well? Can it be uploaded to the switches using TFTP server?

Is the ussuel procedure, you can upload txt files using tftp server.
