Route filtering for external routes in EIGRP & OSPF failing

Hi,

I am trying route filtering in gns3 for OSPF & EIGRP.

When i apply "distribute-list" in EIGRP or "filter-list" in OSPF, the internal routes are getting filtered but the external routes are not filtered.

Is it by design or am i missing something here.

How are you trying to filter and what type of filtering and access-lists are you using?

Can you post your configuration please?
