I'm not sure this is the right place for this, if it is not, I apologize.
I recently bought a 2611 Router to set up a physical lab, as I am studying for my ICND-1. I have zero experience with routers, but in following advice during my CBTNuggets course, I got this router to practice and learn hands-on.
I got the router on eBay, and when I tried to access it via Putty, was greeted with a privacy message and a prompt for Username and Password. Is there any way around this or to wipe it clean? Or am I correct in assuming I just paid for a very large paperweight?
Thanks
G

I spent several hours unable to find that info on my own, thank you very much. The router was successfully reset and I have access to it now.
Thanks

Hello,
try admin/admin as username and password, or cisco/cisco, or a combination of those.
If that doesn't help, you need to reset the device to factory values. Check the link below and follow the procedure starting at step 2.
