Routing ? Nexus + 6509

Hope someone can clear up this question for me:

We have:

2 Nexus 5548

2 6509

The core is the 6509, the two nexus switches will route for vlan 10,20,30 using eigrp. The current setup is

-The core does not have the svi for the above vlan but is learning the routes through eigrp

-The Nexus have the svi for the above vlans.

May question is that the vlans have the command "ip passive-interface eigrp 100". Shouldn't this command stop sending hellos and stop sending routing updates?.

I have routes on both devices.

Thanks for any help.

The command ip passive-interface eigrp 100 will stop the SVIs to establish neighbor relationship with each (also it will not send the EIGRP hellos to the VLAN).

To add the SVI network into the EIGRP topology table, you will need the command ip router eigrp .

HTH,

jerry
