Hi All,
I have 3 switch in my LAN. All these 3 switches connected as extended vlan configurations. I want to do RSPAN. One of my server at fs0/1 of Sw1 and my Analyzer is connected at fs0/24 of SW3. My switches are 3560, 3750.
srv1 (fs0/1) --> SW1 <---> SW2 <---> SW3 ----> (fs0/24) Analyzer
Here is my configuration,
1) create vlan 200 as rspan vlan in all switch.
2) Switch 1 configuration,
sw1# monitor session 1 source interface fastethernet 0/1
sw1# monitor session 1 destination remote vlan 200
3) Switch 3 configuration,
sw3# monitor session 1 source remote vlan 200
sw3# monitor session 1 destination interface fastethernet 0/24
Now, my questions are,
1) Will my given configuration is ok or do I have to do further configuration. If yes, then what are the configuration.
2) Do I have to do any configuration at SW2 (middle switch) for this RSPAN.
3) As said earlier, all the switches connected via extended vlan -- not via Trunk. So will it work.
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello Adnan,
you need to create vlan 200 as remote span vlan on all switches including the one in the middle SW2
because MAC address learning is disabled on a RSPAN Vlan SW2 should have only two ports belonging to RSPAN Vlan either trunks or access ports
Hope to help

Dear Larosa,
Many Thanks for your support. I am in the process of testing it in my Lab before going for production configuration.
Thanks again.
