Hi all, can anyone tell me how these are set up, does the server normally have 2 network cards, ome for the san and one for the lan ?

A SAN can be very complex but also very easy...

just take a PC with 1 network card and put linux on it with 2 or 3 harddisks on it.
Use NFS/CIFS and you have yourself a little NAS :-)

i thought you have 2 network cards, 1 would be the lan, the other would be for the san network?
