Hi,

I am really disturbed by the SSH connection on my lab. I am trying to login in but it gives me the error below. I am using the putty software.

login as: JIN_ROUTER2
JIN_ROUTER2@192.168.0.3's password:
Access denied
JIN_ROUTER2@192.168.0.3's password:
Access denied
JIN_ROUTER2@192.168.0.3's password:

Any advise?

It is simply saying that you are using the wrong username and password.

But, I have the username as I set it up on the configuration, and the password is correct too.on the hostname i used the the fa0/1 int ip address.

Have you configured AAA?

aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default local
aaa authorization exec default local

Hi, Philip, Thank you very much. This seems to make it work. I am still learning these things and I am always eager to learn new things. I have never used ssh before. But, your configs up here works. Please educate me a bit about them. Thank you again.

This configures it to use the local username/password database for authentication.
