Hi all,
We have a 3845 Router running an Adv-enterprise service image on our premises.
I was thinking of installing a security license on it and upgrade the IOS ( if necessary ) .
The purpose is to use is as temporary GRE router for my back up site - and create ipsec tunnels to my main branch office.
I understand that 3800 series routers have met almost all of the "End of sale/service" dates .
Is it still possible to get upgrade the IOS license/image on this and get it to work ?

There is not much to upgrade on that device. Yes, there is a slightly newer IOS available (15.1.4M12a), but the EOL was 2016.
Adv. Enterprise includes all you need for GRE/IPSec. Don't waste money on this device, use it as it is and plan to replace it with a shiny new ISR 4k soon.

Thanks Karsten :)
I was thinking on the same lines as well. Going for a 4451 with AX bundle .
I suppose an AX bundle will include IP Base + AX + Security.
Thanks again
