Hi All,
I need your help to clarify and verify as below scenario questions:
1.I couldn't ping one the unix based server, but i can able to ping after server ping my laptop IP address.
2.Same laptop able ping all the while another unix based server with same IP segment of the above server.
3.Same server IP segment able ping each other.
4. Between host and server there is 2 firewalls in between.I sure there is a rules to allow ping each other and it allowed when i ping from host to server. But NO REPLY from server."Request Timed Out"
My action taken as below:
1.connect my laptop on same segment is working fine.
2.when I connect my laptopn on user IP segment is not working.only can able to ping after server ping my laptop IP.
3.I did deugging on firewall.it shows as below
ICMP echo-request from outside:192.168.19.10 to 192.168.16.2 ID=59 seq=1 length=80
4. when I ping other unix based IP is pingging as normal and also shows below output from debug.
ICMP echo-request from outside:192.168.19.10 to 192.168.16.6 ID=57 seq=0 length=80
ICMP echo-request: untranslating outside:192.168.16.6 to inside:192.168.16.6
ICMP echo-reply from inside:192.168.16.6 to 192.168.19.10 ID=57 seq=0 length=80
ICMP echo-reply: translating inside:192.168.16.6 to outside:192.168.16.6
So I would like to know, what will be the isssues.
Thanks in advance.

I noticed on your logs that it looks like you're on different segments. You stated that when you connect to the "same segment" (I'm assuming addressed in the same network as the server), everything works okay. If that's correct, double check the default gateway on the server and make sure it's correct.

Hi John,
Thanks for reply.
I checked on server , the gateway configured correctly.so only user able to ping the server after server ping to host.
Very confused.
how do I capture traffic on switch. Both the servers is connected to same switch.but one server is working.other is NOT.
What else do I need to test?
thanks
