Hi,

I am trying to configure service-policy output LLQ on WS-X6724-SFP module and getting error message as below:

(config)#int gi 8/1
(config-if)#service-policy output LLQ

priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface

Configuration failed!

Device model information:

cisco 7609 with sup 720 and pfc3

Can any one say why the error message happens, and what is the remedy for this ?
Or the same configuration is not supported for this interface ?

Please help...

Thanks

Hello Richard,

the port belongs to a linecard that does not support the modular QoS setup but only the QoS WRR of LAN switch ports.

Only ports of SIP linecards or ES 20/40 linecards or ports or "WAN" modules like older OSM supports modular QoS like in a software based router.

The warning tells you this fact.

There is nothing wrong with your configuration, unfortunately it cannot be applied to this hardware.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi,

Please take a look at the following QoS guide:

not sure if you are using any of these keywords mentioned in the guide under the policy-map which are not supported:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SXF/native/configuration/guide/qos.html#wp1581673

what is your goal ? can you post the class-map and policy-map here.

Could you please let me know if there is a better way other than configuring LLQ to prioratise my traffic...
