Hi folks

I have a setup where I want to set the cos value for each outgoing packet to 5. The deployed switch is a Cisco 3560X and the outgoing interface is int Gig1/4.

I know there is a command for set the cos value for ingoing interfaces:

mlq qos cos 5

But I want to set cos for every outgoing packet from the switch.

Can anybody help?

Thx and regards

Jimmy

Not 100% certain, without some study, but I recall you would need to set the CoS for ingress.

Assuming, you only want to do this for g1/4, I also recall the "trick" would be to use an ingress policy on all your other interfaces, to insure traffic that will be egressing g1/4 has the CoS desired.

I configured the ingress ports with mls qos cos 5. But traffic which is created by the switch itself will not be tagged. That's why I want to tag the whole outgoing traffic instead the ingress

Ah.

I recall some devices have a command to have device mark its sourced traffic.
