Hello,
as no of my searches came to an answer I am now here to ask for help.
I got 2x SFP-H10GB-CU5M and 1x SFP-H10GB-CU3M. I tried to use them to connect 2 WS-X45-SUP7-E to 2 servers.
All the cables run flawlessly between the 2 servers. The 3M-cable also between Sup and server(s), but the 5M-cables won't connect.
They do get recognized. I wonder if there might be any firmware/software problem. Otoh I wonder if thats the problem, why does the 3M-cable link?
Any suggestions on this?
The Sups are : 15.0(1r)SG2 / 03.02.00.SG
One of the Transceivers:
NAME: "TenGigabitEthernet5/1", DESCR: "1000BaseCX"
PID: SFP-H10GB-CU5M , VID: , SN: MOC12444172

I would say its that the other user in case I posted had issues v01 and now looking at this other case its the same v01 have issues and Cisco know about it and now only sell v02 and on the 3850s only v02 will work with CU5M , Doubt there fake just not fully supported in v01

Hi Mark,
thanks, I knew that matrix and that's the point: 3M works, 5M not...
5M -> show inter te5/1:
TenGigabitEthernet5/1 is down, line protocol is down (notconnect)
Hardware is Ten Gigabit Ethernet Port
Full-duplex, Auto-speed, link type is auto, media type is 1000BaseCX
3M -> show inter te6/1:
TenGigabitEthernet6/1 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is Ten Gigabit Ethernet Port
Full-duplex, 10Gb/s, link type is auto, media type is 10GBase-CU 3M
Port-Config is the same, server-hardware is the same...
I do have an newer 4507R with 15.0(1r)SG10 / 03.07.03.E, unfortunately the output stays the same. Maybe they are fake? But they do their work as server-interconnect, 10G.

In the compatibility sheet I have found no special version hint, but the thread above looks interesting.
The HW versions do differ, right: the 5M is a 37-0962-01 , the 3M is 37-0961-03, the former should V01, the latter V03.
Tricky stuff...

I got another pair of 5M, this time P/N ending -02 and the link is established immediately.
So thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Hello,
On my side, I have a Cisco 9300 (+module NM-8X), and a DAC (sfp-h10gb-cu3m).
I just want to replace it, and the port stay "notconnect" .
How to fix this issue ?
After many hours, without any action, during the night, the port became "connected".
What happen ?
