HI,
I have an SG220 switch and I'm trying to connect the SFP to the fiber port, but it doesn't recognize me as a module. SFP is not a cisco vendor is Alcatel. On the Catalyst 4500 switch with the command no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid and service unsupported-transceiver it works well, but on the SG220 switch it does not accept these commands. Do you have the possibility from your experience how to act in this case with SG220.

Hello @arberhyseni,
It seems like the SG220 switch is not recognizing the non-Cisco SFP module, which is a common issue with some networking devices. The reason for this behavior is that some network switches have a vendor lock-in feature that prevents them from recognizing SFP modules from other vendors.
Unfortunately, the SG220 switch does not support the [no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid] and [service unsupported-transceiver] commands that are available on the Cisco Catalyst 4500 switch.
I don't think/know if the SG220 switch has a feature called "Transceiver PHY Vendor Compatibility" or similar. If the feature or equivalent is not available, then you may need to replace the non-Cisco SFP module with a Cisco-branded module that is compatible with the SG220 switch.
