I have 4 3560 switches all connected to each other via SFP fiber channels. The plug and play works and I get a connection, however these aren't my switches, as in I didn't buy them the person before me did. I have no idea if you can configure them to work better with the SFP slots or if there are performance gains I can get with the entire system.
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

As you have 4 switches, they must be connected in a star topology or in a cascaded fashion, which is an optimal design/configuration. All your connects will be working on 1000/full duplex which is the maximum speed. This should be the optimal configuration to get the max performance gain for this system.

You can configure all these switches to be a part of cluster so that all of them can be managed by a single IP address. Please find the link below for more info on the same and how to connect and configure the switches.

I have them all connected to the main 48port gigabit switch.. which holds all the servers and AP's.
I was thinking about clustering.. hopefully I'll be able to obtain the lease rights for two of the switches we don't own them at this time.
