Hi,

We have two 10GB links using the Cisco 10GB LR x2 gbics in a 8 port 10GE card (WS-X6708-10GE), one which is showing high optical loss, while the other is fine.

gw-01#show int transceiver

Transceiver monitoring is disabled for all interfaces.

If device is externally calibrated, only calibrated values are printed.

++ : high alarm, + : high warning, - : low warning, -- : low alarm.

NA or N/A: not applicable, Tx: transmit, Rx: receive.

mA: milliamperes, dBm: decibels (milliwatts).

Optical Optical

Temperature Voltage Current Tx Power Rx Power

Port (Celsius) (Volts) (mA) (dBm) (dBm)

------- ----------- ------- -------- -------- --------

Te2/1 35.7 0.00 40.6 -1.4 -15.6 -

Te2/2 29.0 0.00 5.2 -2.6 -3.5

When we switch the links the loss doesn't follow the fibre, and swapping out the end gbics also does not resolve the issue. We are at a loss on how to resolve.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks

David
