On a 3750 you can do a show platform port-asic stats drop command. Is there a corresponding command for 6500 chassis?
thanks

Hello Brain,
Try this,
remote command switch show platform hardware asicreg pinnacle slot x port y error-counters print-all
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Richard.

Richard,
If I try this on a line card (ws-x6724-sfp), I get not supported. If i use it on a sup, it gives a bunch of pinnacle information, but not any errors. What I'm looking for is the errors/discards reported by the hw, vs what you see in software counters, as those can be inaccurate.
Thanks
Brian

Hello Brain,
Can you please post the output of sh mod and sh ver and the module/port you are trying to look for errors?
Thanks,
Richard.

Troubleshooting why we are getting all these discards (all related to a VMWare/SAN issue). I want to make sure they are valid, as I know the counters can report back false results.. although when I've looked at the same traffic going through a 3750, sw and hw are reporting back the same, so I have no reason to suspect the 6500's aren't as well.

Hello Brain,
Instead of applying that in the SP try applying the same command which i have given earlier in DFC line card
remote login module X
show platform hardware asicreg pinnacle slot x port y error-counters print-non-zero
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Richard
