Hi everyone,

I just tried doing a show run on a router. However, the usernames configured within the router does not appear in the show run. I am currently using a console interface to log into the router. Anyone has any idea why the usernames are not shown?

Are you using radius or tacacs credentials to log in? or is it local username and password?

Hi Bilal,

Radius or Tacacs are not configured/used on the router. It's a local username and password.

Can you do a "show run all | inc user" please? Also if you could share the exact platform and IOS version you are on, it might help to find out if this is a bug of some kind.

Hi Bilal,

The Cisco software running is:

Cisco IOS Software, 3600 Software (C3660-TELCO-M), Version 12.3(8)T3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(6r)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

The show run all | inc user returns an error message (% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.)

The show run |inc user does not return any output.

When show privilege is run, the following result is returned:

Current privilege level is 15

When you log in, are you prompted for a username? When you're logged in do a "show user" In your config do you use the enable password to log in.

Please post the output of "show run | begin line"
