I'm wondering if this is a known bug and if there is a workaround..
When we use 'show vlan id' to view multiple vlans at once it doesnt report all the interfaces the vlans are on.
Example:
show vlan id 166,402,1379 VLAN Name Status Ports ---- -------------------------------- --------- ------------------------------- 166 166 active 402 402 active Gi9/12 1379 1379 active VLAN Type SAID MTU Parent RingNo BridgeNo Stp BrdgMode Trans1 Trans2 ---- ----- ---------- ----- ------ ------ -------- ---- -------- ------ ------ 166 enet 100166 1500 - - - - - 0 0 402 enet 100402 1500 - - - - - 0 0 1379 enet 101379 1500 - - - - - 0 0
In reality, vlan 166 is on gi9/48 and po5. vlan 402 is on gi4/25, gi9/12, po5 and po3. vlan 1379 is on gi4/25 and po5.
These vlans do show the proper interfaces if the command is run with just one vlan at a time.

Are the ports that are members of the vlans above that are not shown, trunk ports? Generally, access ports show up in this ports list and trunk ports do not.
Can you post where it's working when you do an individual? For example, only vlan 166? Also, what version/platform are you seeing this on?

John

Yes, they are on trunk ports. We are using 7609's on 12.2(18)SXF7 (and we cannot upgrade code)
Here is the output for 166: (both 9/48 and po5 are 'trunking')
show vlan id 166
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
166 CHRLNC166 active Gi9/48, Po5

I've never tried to view them individually as a group like this in the past. I get the same thing on a 2960. If you do a "show vlan" only and then enter, you get the above as you would if you listed them out. It seems like this command, along with listing them out, are for access ports only (remember trunk ports don't show members). If you list the individual vlan, you get back the trunk ports that are members of that vlan. I don't think this is a bug, but by design.
Sw#sh vlan

Gi0/3, Gi0/4
All of the ports in vlan 10 are trunk ports, but notice they don't show up with "sh vlan" or "show vlan id 10,140". I believe this shows access ports only, and specifying the individual will show you the trunk port information.

Yes only access ports will be seen in sh vlan brief.
we can use sh inter status command,it will show all interface status with vlan information.
