Dear All,
I have Cisco 4506 switch (WS-C4506) with SUP IV (WS-X4515) and line cards 48 ports 10/100BaseTX (WS-X4148-RJ45V).
When I try to transfer file between 2 PCs connected to 2 different line cards (Fa2/40 and Fa3/23), it does not exceed 11.4 to 12MBps.
When I checked the data sheet of SUP IV, it says
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/product_data_sheet0900aecd8035cf2b.html
Per-slot switching capacity
|
6 Gbps
|
When I calculate each switchport capacity, it comes around 16MBps, which justifies the above limitation of 11.4 MBps transfer rate, but if I try to download from internet, it reaches 60-70MBps.
Please correct me if I am wrong, What I understood from above data sheet is that 6Gbps per-slot switching capacity means through switch back plane and internet download speed directly relates to PC NIC rather than switchport (but can not exceed switchport speed).
Your suggestions are highly appreciated as I am in phase of POC for a customer to replace switches with E chassis with SUP 7-E.
Thanks & Regards
Ahmed...
