Hi,

Primary objective: file sharing, internet for all 6 computers on LAN.

Hardware: Linksys wrt54g wireless router, Netgear Prosafe FS 116 16 port unmanaged switch, Cable Modem, 6+ client computers

Situation: The network is setup as Cable Modem>Router>Switch>client computers

I can't seem to get internet and LAN on every computer. If I cut out the swtich and use the 4 port router I can get full networking capabilities (internet and LAN networking).  Is my switch broken?

Hi Matt,

When you use the switch, do some of the machines work? Or is it all of them that do not work?

If some of the PC's do work when plugged into the switch, it could be that some of the ports on the switch are broken?
