In Cisco Network Assistant, under smart ports, if I configure the switch port as Cisco Wireless/Router, it hard codes the interface as Trunk.
In this particular case what is the reason for hard coding it as trunk?
My understanding is that trunk port carries traffic for all the vlan.
Appreciate some detailed explanation.

When you are dealing with autonomous wireless access point, it's very common to have mutiple VLANs configured in the WAP, therefore you need a Trunk switch port.
You can also configure the trunk port to allow VLANs of your choice.

also u can create it manualy switch port mode trunk command. By-default the trunk port allow all vlans, but u can manage the trunk port to allow vlans as per your choice. one thing is that if u r connect wireless device to this perticular port and if yr wireless device support multiple vlans, you should configure the port as a trunk ( using smart port rules in gui or trunk port configuration in cli mode).
Thanks..
