hi all,
i'm configuring SNMP on a 2911 router.
snmp-server view SNMP_RO system included
snmp-server view SNMP_RO interfaces included
snmp-server view SNMP_RO ifMIB included
snmp-server community 5nmpR0 view SNMP_RO ro 33
access-list 33 permit 10.10.1.140 log
access-list 33 deny any log
snmp-server host 10.10.1.140 5nmpR0
when i issued snmp-server enable traps it generated a lot of SNMP related lines.
is this command necessary? or will the community SNMP community string and host is enough?

Hi John,
I believe, if you don't specify a specific trap, it will enable all options.
The snmp-server enable traps snmpcommand is used in conjunction with the snmp-server hostcommand. Use the snmp-server host command to specify which host or hosts receive SNMP notifications. In order to send notifications, you must configure at least one snmp-server hostcommand.
For a host to receive a notification controlled by this command, you must enable both the snmp-server enable traps command and the snmp-server hostcommand for that host. If the notification type is not controlled by this command, you must enable the appropriate snmp-server host command only.

hi reza,
thanks for your feedback!
will negate the snmp trap line first and see how it goes.
